Q. Where do you get the ‘sales uplift’ figures from? How can you be so confident that it will work?

A: We know that it works because before anyone becomes a client we always provide them with a:b split-testing for their site. In essence, half your customers are served your own in-house recommendations and half are served Peerius. That way, you can easily compare the difference in a statistically significant way between those that have been served Peerius recommendations and those that haven’t. But don’t just take our word for it – trial your website with us for free and let us show you what we can do for you.

Q. Is the installation process as simple as you say?

A: Yes it really is. All you need to do is paste one line of javascript tracking code onto your website template page and give us a product feed to integrate (which is only a few hours work for us). That is it. We do everything else. If you don’t have a suitable product feed we can even work with you to get the product data information from your site.

Q: My site is hosted by a 3rd party ecommerce provider. What impact will that have on getting Peerius onto my site?

A: It shouldn’t make any difference in that pasting the one line of javascript code is still all the work that needs to be done. In practice, ecommerce platforms will want you to fit in with their own schedule for website modifications. However, we work closely with many ecommerce providers, and if you tell us who your platform provider is, we can often help you to ensure that everything is expedited as soon as physically possible.

Q: Do I need the Recommendation Engine in order to use Social Search, Intelligent Email, etc?

A: You will still need to paste the tracking code onto your website pages and provide us with the product feed, because we need to use our Recommendation Engine to provide the other solutions But it is perfectly possible for us to provide you with only one of our intelligent solutions as a stand-alone solution.

Q: Can I edit options and settings, to push some of my own recommendations and merchandising rules??

A: Yes – you can over-ride any of the recommendations served with whatever you want.  However, as Peerius constantly self-optimises in order to always select the products that will maximise sales, we find that the majority of clients rarely touch these settings. They’re there if you need them, however so that you can ensure the results tie in with any criteria you have.

Q: I already have email marketing software. Can I use Multi-Channel Recommendations with this?

A: Yes, you can keep your existing email marketing arrangements. Peerius Intelligent Email will integrate seamlessly; we simply ‘slot in’ our recommendations in the places you specify in your design.

Q: What do you mean by ‘clustering?’

A: Traditional recommendation software might select the products that most other people have bought on average. Peerius doesn’t do that. Instead, it looks only at the habits of people who have been identified as being very similar to your visitor in purchase and browsing behaviour. By identifying ‘clusters’ of people – small groups with common buying behaviour – Peerius can make far more accurate predictions. Essentially it comes down to the fact that there’s no such thing as the ‘average shopper’.

Q: How will I know that recommendations will maintain the same level of performance post the trial?

A: We provide a full analytics overview so that you can monitor ongoing results and, for example, view the numbers of recommendations clicked on and bought.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: We will charge you a simple flat, monthly fee based on the uplift we provide and the turnover of your site. The monthly fee will remain fixed for the contract length and that is it. There are no hidden costs, hardware costs, license fees or onsite installation costs. As an alternative, we can charge you a variable amount which is based on that month’s uplift – but most people prefer the fixed, monthly fee.

Q: Where do you put recommendations within the site? And where do you put them on each page?

A: We can serve recommendations onto any page. The most common pages on which to serve recommendations are the product pages but recommendations can also be highly successful on category pages, the home page, within blogs and on basket pages. We can work with you to help create the most effective use of recommendations within your site and of course, we can back this up statistically so you know which is the most effective strategy for you.

The recommendations are served live from our server onto your page. We can either serve them directly onto your page without the need for you to make any page modifications at all, or your designers can create a physical space in your own style into which we will serve the live recommendations.
